It’s World Earth Day 🌍  and here at TCB Dining, over the last couple of years we have made a significant change in how we operate as a business, as Food Wastage was a huge concern of ours.

Food wastage in 2021, according to wrap.org.uk – Food Waste Trends Survey 2021 is back to pre pandemic levels of almost 20%, despite 33% of consumers reporting that they recognise the ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ brand.

FACTS:

  • Over ⅓ of all food produced globally goes to waste.
  • The UK throws away around 9.5 million tonnes of food waste in a single year – even though 8.4 million people in the UK are in food poverty.
  • Billions of pounds are wasted each year when food is disposed of unnecessarily.

At TCB Unlimited Dining, we still wanted offer an ‘all you can eat experience’ but we also wanted to take into account how much food wastage was associated with the previous buffet style of dining.

The compromise was a ‘Table Buffet Service’ with dishes ordered from an app and coming in tapas style portions.

This means you can order small amounts and try things, as you would from a buffet but with minimal wastage and if you want more of something you enjoy, you simply order multiple dishes of the same thing.

In actual fact it’s no longer felt a compromise and most of our regular customers have told us they prefer it and accept it as a positive change.

We all have to do our bit and we feel at TCB Dining, we are doing exactly that with our NEW and Innovative, unlimited dining service, ‘redefined’.
